The U.S. heat pump market is showing positive signs.
In July 2026, U.S. air source heat pump shipments reached 413,679 units, up 17.6% on the previous year. During the same month, combined shipments of central air conditioners and air source heat pumps reached 916,830 units, up 20.1% on July 2025.

In the first seven months of 2026, U.S. air source heat pump shipments reached 2,570,228 units, up 5.8% on 2025. Combined shipments of central air conditioners and air source heat pumps reached 5,633,518 units, up 5.5% compared to 2025.
U.S. Heat Pump Demand Continues to Grow
Air source heat pump shipments increased 17.6% year over year in July, while shipments for the first seven months of the year were also up 5.8%. These figures indicate continued growth in the U.S. air source heat pump market.
Unlike conventional cooling-only equipment, air source heat pumps can provide both heating and cooling, helping meet year-round temperature control needs in buildings. As demand for efficient HVAC systems continues to grow in different regions, heat pumps are being used in a wider range of residential and commercial applications.
For heat pump manufacturers, market growth means not only increased product demand, but also a need for products that can adapt to a wider range of applications.
Product Requirements Are Changing
As heat pump applications continue to expand, market requirements are no longer focused only on basic heating performance.
Under different climate and application conditions, factors such as energy efficiency, low-temperature performance, noise control, smart control, and system compatibility can all affect the user experience.
For overseas markets, countries and regions differ in climates, installation methods, energy systems, and regulations and standards. Therefore, heat pump manufacturers need to continue improving product performance while also developing products and systems based on the specific needs of different markets.
